This is a portrait of the Hindu god Shiva, the Destroyer. This piece is part of the series "Gods and Saints." My thought behind this series was to portray men as earthly gods and saints. When I paint, I intend to elevate the subjects of my art. I believe in the god inside all of us and that is what is reflected in this piece.
